Calendar festivals and rituals are structured in accordance with the natural phenological changes, main agricultural occupations and are determined by people's world outlook. After a long and complex combination and interactions between the two systems of world-view - mythological and Christian ones, the folk calendar of holidays and ceremonies operates in the modern period in Belarus, the time restriction of which is determined by the Christian Church calendar. In their majority Belarusians belong to two main Christian denominations: Orthodoxy and Catholicism (the difference between the Julian and Gregorian systems of measuring time is 13 days). Part of the calendar of holidays has a constant date, others are moving depending on the date of Easter which varies from April 4 to May8 in the Orthodox calendar and from March 22 to April 25 in the Catholic calendar.
