Main - - Culture - Rites and songs of calling spring   People began to perform the rites and songs of calling spring ("Gukanne of Spring ") on March1 / 14, the day of St. Eudoxia. Restless gay youth set the tone for these rites. The girls gathered at the most exalted places in the village and sang ritual spring songs till late at night, calling and glorifying spring.
