International Olympiad in philosophy for schoolchildren took place on May 28-31, 2020. It was organized with the support of the International Federation of philosophical societies. This year, the Olympiad was supposed to take place in Lisbon, Portugal. However, because of the pandemic, it was decided to postpone the full-time Olympiad to the next year. This year, the Olympiad was held remotely. It was organized by the team from Slovenia.

Belarusian delegation consisted of: teachers Andrey Dudchik (Institute of philosophy of the NAS of Belarus) and Nadezhda Kushner (lyceum of the Belarusian State University); students Julia Kovalevskaya (Brest) and Ksenia Leschinskaya (Minsk) – winners of the National selection competition. In addition, Associate Professor of the Belarusian State University Margarita Fabrikant and researcher of the Institute of philosophy of the NAS of Belarus Nadezhda Iliyushenko participated as invited speakers.

In May 2021, the Olympiad is to be held in Lisbon. The Institute of philosophy together with Belarusian State University and Belarusian philosophical society plans to conduct the selection competition in autumn 2020.
