Grodno Farny church of St. Francis Xavier (ex-Jesuit)
 
Grodno Farny church of St. Francis Xavier (ex-Jesuit) is a monument of architecture of the 17th-18th centuries. It was built in 1678 - 1705 years in the historical centre of Grodno on the money of priest I. Devyaltovski with the participation of priest P. Elizarovich. It was consecrated in 1705 in the presence of King August II of Poland and the Russian Tsar Peter the Great. It is a monumental three cross-domed basilica with a two-tower main facade in the style of middle Baroque. The upper tiers of the towers were built on in the years 1750-52 (Architect H. Burman) in the style of late (Vilna) Baroque. Furnishing of the interior (1711-1753) includes seven stunning carved altars. The main altar (height 21 m) is made on the money of S.Lazovoi and his wife by the carver Jan Schmidt. Fresco paintings over arcades between naves represent 14 subjects from the life of the Jesuit missionary Francis Xavier, after whom the church was consecrated. Near the building of Pharmacy of the17th century has been preserved. It is a historical and cultural value of national importance.
