International round table “Prospects of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the humanitarian sphere in the context of implementation of “Belt and Road Initiative” was held at the Institute of philosophy of the NAS of Belarus

Delegation of the Institute of social development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) visited the Institute of philosophy of the NAS of Belarus on January 14, 2020. The aim of the visit was summing up the results of cooperation and planning events for 2020-2021.

The international round table “Prospects of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the humanitarian sphere in the context of implementation of “Belt and road initiative” was held on January 14. The staff of the Institute of social development of the CASS, Doctors Ma Feng, Feng Siin, and Yu Shaosyan, director of the Institute of philosophy A.A. Lazarevich, head of the Department of the studies of globalization, integration, and social-cultural cooperation N.A. Kutuzova, doctoral student D.A. Smolyakov, researchers A.V. Sivitsky, O.I. Davydik, N.S. Iliyushenko, director of Confucius class of the Belarusian State University of physical culture N.V. Kosteeva, lecturer of the Belarusian State University D.B. Nechiporuk participated in the event.

During the round table, there were discussed the issues of development of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the context of implementation of “Belt and road initiative”, trends and criteria of its effectiveness; modernization of the national management system in China; experience of modernization of the system of social management in China; “Belt and road initiative” as accelerator of implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus and China; Chinese experience in poverty reduction; cooperation of Belarus and China in the sphere of education.

There was also conducted the presentation of joint publications that contain the research materials of 2018-2019: “China and Belarus: Forge Ahead Together in the “Belt and Road” Construction” (Beijing, China Social Sciences Press, 2019) in Chinese and English, “Belt and road initiative: humanitarian aspects of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation” (Vilnius, BALTO print, 2019) in Russian and English.
