FUNDS AND PROPERTY OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
Article 22. Funds of the Academy of Sciences
Funds of the Academy of Sciences are formed by:
means of the republican budget;
means of funds created to finance the scientific, scientific and technical, and innovative activities, including foreign ones;
income from business activities of scientific organizations and other legal persons under the authority of the Academy of Sciences, including royalties from profits of commercial organizations established with the participation of the Academy of Sciences;
voluntary contributions and donations of legal persons and individuals, including foreign ones;
other sources not prohibited by legislation.
The budget means provided for funding of scientific, scientific and technical, and innovative activities are used for:
carrying out fundamental and applied scientific research and developments;
implementation of scientific and technical programs and innovative projects;
training and increasing the qualifications of scientists;
development of material and technical base of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority;
providing statutory activities of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority;
a monthly surcharge for academic scientific ranks of Full Member (Academician), and Corresponding Member, and scientific degrees;
preparation and publication of scientific, scientific and technical, scientific and methodical literature, including periodicals;
conducting scientific and scientific and practical events;
scientific and scientific and technical cooperation based on international treaties;
social needs (up to one per cent of allocations to scientific organizations under the authority of the Academy of Sciences, to perform scientific-research and experimental-design works);
financing costs associated with the review of works nominated for State Prizes of the Republic of Belarus in the field of science, engineering, literature, arts and architecture;
financing costs on the review of works, nominated for the awards, established by the Academy of Sciences, and the payment of these awards;
establishing special scholarships of the Academy of Sciences for young scientists and postgraduates of the Republic of Belarus;
other purposes not contradicting to the legislation.
Article 23. The property of the Academy of Sciences
The property of the Academy of Sciences is the republican property and it is located in the operational management of the Academy of Sciences.
The property transferred for operational management to scientific organizations and other legal persons under the authority of the Academy of Sciences, refers to the republican property.
Unique objects, especially those valuable in the scientific sense and having all-national significance, which are in the possession, use and disposal of the Academy of Sciences, can be declared national treasure in the order established by legislation.
