The Complex "Minsk-Arena". ,The multi-cultural and sports complex "Minsk-Arena" (headed by A. Nichkasov, architects V. Kutskov, V. Budayev, A. Shabalin, V. Nikitin , 2006-2009) is a unique in scope project continuing the formation of the sport nucleus along Pobeditelei Avenue in Minsk; it includes a sports and entertainment arena for 15 thousand spectators, provided for 28 kinds of sports and performing concerts, a skating stadium with a 400-meter track and grandstand seating for 3000 seats and 2000 seats on the velodrome. Three-dimensional concept is built on a combination of a cylindrical volume of the arena and diagonally oriented volumes of the skating stadium and velodrome, which form an oval in plan composition and are connected with each other by an extension to the complex of halls. The eight-storey volume of the arena is connected with the skating stadium by the underground passage. The solution of the volumes is dominated by plastic curved shapes, big divisions, designed for panoramic vision. The two layer cable roofing with the diameter of 115 m, which forms a shallow dome, is used for the ceiling of the arena. The overhead cover of the stadium and velodrome are made from metal arch spans of 86 m, connected in the longitudinal direction by farms. The complex includes a multi-level parking with open car parks. In the decoration of the facades stained facade system, sandwich panels in two colours - white and metallic, light grey granite are applied.
