Ruzanski palace complex
Ruzanski palace complex is a monument of architecture of the 17-18th century. It is the former residence of the Sapegas princes. It is situated on the high hill in south-eastern part of the settlement of Ruzhany (Pruzhany district). At the beginning of 17th century L. Sapega built two-storied cruciform in the plan stone palace in renaissance style with three
towers of dwelling and defense destination, marsh stairs and suite of rooms. Partially it was destroyed by the Swedes the Northern War at the beginning of the 18th century. It was rebuilt by an architect Y.S. Bekker in 1784-1786 in the style of baroque classicism. At the same time a palace complex consisting of several consolidating round the front yard buildings with a park, gardens and greenhouse was created. Symmetrical side buildings were situated at right angle to palace and were connected by semicircular in the plan arcade. In the eastern building there was a theatre and Maney, in the western (didn’t remain) - picture gallery. In front of the palace the axis of the yard is enclosed by a monumental entry gates (brama) in the form of three-bayed triumphal arch with carved heraldic cartouche. Since 1795 there were cloth factory and weaving mill in the palace complex. In 1914 it was destroyed, in 1930 it was partially restored. After the Great Patriotic War it is still in tumbledown condition and temporary closing down of fragments is realized. It is a historical and cultural value of republican significance.
Zhirovichi Assumption Cathedral, an architectural monument of the 17-19th centuries. It is the principal temple of Orthodox Saint-Assumption monastery in the village of Zhirovichi (Slonim district). The monastery is founded by a Lithuanian bursar A. Soltan after apparition in 1493 wonder-working Mother of God icon.
