As on 1 January 2010, the University had 29 agreements on cooperation with foreign educational and scientific institutions, in the framework of which joint training, research, cultural and sports projects are implemented. University scientists are taking part in the International Academy of Higher Education, the International Academy of Social and Educational Sciences, the International Academy of Technical Education, the International Pedagogical Academy, the International Scientific Council for the History of School and Pedagogy, the International Association of the People's Pedagogy, the International Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, the European Society of Mechanicals, the European Society of Biomechanics, the European Mycological Society, the International Academy of Ecology, the International Academy of Eurasia.



During 2005 – 2009 at the base of the University, 30 international scientific conferences, were scientists from Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia took part, were held.



Scientists of the University annually participate in scientific conferences abroad (Spain, Italy, France, Britain, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia). Teachers of Art-Graphic Faculty participate in international art exhibitions (in Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, and France).



Departments of the University are actively pursuing a number of international projects and programs. Zoology Department takes part in the banding and the study of bird migration in the framework of SE European bird migration network. Biologists within the TEMPUS program in 2005 – 2007 participated in the project “Introduction into environmental profession for pedagogues”.



Department of World History and World Culture participate in the project “Modernization and implementation of business education programs for training in the tourism industry of the Republic of Belarus” in the TEMPUS – IV program.



Department of Pedagogy in 2009 joined the project of the TEMPUS-IV “Networking with partner universities in the implementation of a multilevel system of training and advanced training in educational management”. Department of Geography in 2009 proceeded to the execution of the project within the framework of TEMPUS-IV “Implementation of tools and strategies for assessing quality at the institutional (university) level”.



Scientists, art historians and artists take part in such major international projects, such as reading of Chagall and Chagall open air. Professors of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Committee under the “Special Olympics” are realizing the project “State and problems in adaptive physical education”



In recent years, some international projects have been implemented with the assistance of the Polish Institute in Minsk, Goethe Institute in Minsk, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), TEMPUS, United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) in the Republic of Belarus.



Students-philologists, studying for a degree in German language annually leave for language courses and courses on regional geography in Wetzlar, Germany, and the Supreme Folk School of Mararensa in Loccum.



Since 2000, the University conducts training of foreign nationals from countries not only of the CIS, but also from abroad. In the 2009 – 2010 academic year 167 citizens from different countries, including European Union countries: Estonia and Latvia, study at the university.



Foreign students are actively involved in the university, city and national cultural events. Repeatedly, team of foreign university students participated in the festival at the National Centre of Cultures “In the inflorescence of peoples and cultures”, held by the City center of culture, in the Republican festival of foreign students’ art «F.-Art.by», according to results of which the team was awarded with a diploma for the strengthening of intercultural dialogue between students and active participation in the festival, and won first place in the nomination “Best informational support of the National Festival of students’ art”. Foreign students assist the organization of international student club based on the hostel № 6, whose purpose – promotion of Belarusian culture, the development of international contacts, the study of other cultures.
