The arch of monuments of history and culture of Belarus
One of the largest fundamental works of department of architecture of Institute of Arts, Ethnography and Folklore named after K.Krapiva NAS of Belarus, is the seven-volumed edition «The arch of monuments of history and culture of Belarus» which was published in 1984-1988 In the edition encyclopedic characteristics of monuments of history and culture of Belarus are reflected. The volume and the separate book – to the city of Minsk is devoted each area of republic. The similar academic publication has been prepared in our country for the first time. Taking into account social and economic and historical and cultural laws of development of Belarus in it the material heritage of the Belarus people is concentrated, generalized and systematized. «The arch of monuments» totals about 16 thousand articles about immovable monuments of history, architecture, archeology, monumental art which have remained up to now. The total amount of collective work has made 452 quires. The edition is richly illustrated by cards-schemes, color and black-and-white pictures.
Seven-volumed «The arch of monuments of history and culture of Belarus» is awarded the State award for 1990. On the basis of the Arch the republic government in 1988 has confirmed the list of the historical monuments registered and protected by the state.
